Leona Lewis was featured on a BBC special in The UK called Queen’s Of British Pop, where they did special interviews, and back stories on the most successful British singers. Leona was one of the few to be honored on the show, which had special comments from celebs such as Alexandra Burke, Lulu, Simon Cowell, Ryan Tedder, etc.
This is such an awesome video which takes us on the long journey that Leona has had.
Leona sat down with ABC.com for her Pre American Music Awards interview. In the interview, Leona tells us that she is nervous about her performance tonight and that she is looking forward to seeing Alicia Keys, Rihanna and more - don’t forget to tune in TONIGHT at 8p.m. for the awards!!!
Leona will be performing on the Divas II Celebration this weekend in England and here is a Preview and Interview special focusing on the Divas of the upcoming show. Leona will be joined on stage with The Sugababes, Anastacia, Rihanna, Pink, Gabriella and the legendary Dionne Warwick. Leona returned to her roots tonight when she performed on the show that made her a star, The X-Factor. Leona returned to perform her new single Run and for a quick interview. Not very well. I like it cold, when there’s a blue sky but when it’s grey and rainy it’s not nice.
It’s definitely hat weather. Are you a hat person?
I love hats. I’ve got one on today that’s inspired by my granddad; it’s a flatcap kind of thing. They’ve got those massive tea-cosy hats in H&M now, they’re quite cool.

■What’s it like to see posters of yourself around the place, or in magazines?
“When I see myself in magazines it is a bit surreal. I always have fun on my shoots; it’s nice to be creative and I love that side of it as well. When I see the finished product, it’s kinda like, ‘wow’; it’s something to really be proud of.â€Â
■Are you able to walk the streets – or too famous for that now?
“Yeah, of course.â€Â
■Don’t people always come up to you, and stop you every two minutes, saying that they voted for you on The X-Factor?
“Some people come up to me and tell me that they voted for me, but I think it’s something nice because the people that supported me are the same people who have allowed me to do what I’m doing. I’m so grateful for that and I’ve got all the time in the world for people who wanna have a little chat.â€Â
â– A lot of people were talking about how unassuming and shy you were then. Has that changed; are you more confident now?
“I don’t think I’ve changed at all – I think I’m exactly the same person that I always was. On the show you go out and you’re judged on two minutes of performing a song, so it was very nerve-wracking. I wasn’t really confident on the show, but I always have a quiet self-confidence, and that’s just me, and I’m still me now.â€Â

City Weekend writer Michael Engstrom recently bumped into British singing sensation Leona Lewis whilst on the other side of the East China Sea. Having come over to Tokyo for a small showcase, the 2006 winner of “The X Factor†(Britain’s version of “American Idol”) was magnanimous enough to dedicate some minutes of her precious time to friendly conversation. Sitting quietly on the 49th floor of the Tokyo Ritz Carlton, they sipped Evian and discussed the finer points of divadom.
City Weekend’s Michael Engstrom: As many of your international fans may not understand English, where do you think your appeal lies for them?
Leona Lewis: It’s kinda surreal to me that the music is transcending that language barrier. I just think it’s amazing, and for me, I studied classical music, doing a lot of opera, and there’d be a lot of artists singing in French, Spanish, and Italian, and I wouldn’t understand exactly what they were saying. But I got the feeling from their voice and the musical elements, and I think that’s what’s happening with my music.
CWME: Let’s say you were given an opportunity to sing at the Beijing Olympics. Would you accept? What about singing in London in 2012?
LL: That would be amazing, an amazing honor, you know it’s just such a big ceremony, viewed by so many people. So that’d be an amazing honor to do that, if I had the chance. Being from the U.K., I’d love to sing in London 2012.
CWME: Are you familiar with the Idol phenomenon taking place in China?
LL: You mean like the American Idol?
CWME: Yeah, but it’s Chinese. It’s called “Super Girl.†Would you be willing to collaborate with the Chinese Idols?
