Leona Lewis to perform in Jackson tribute show

Leona Lewis is set to perform at a Michael Jackson tribute show which is to be held at London’s O2 Arena. Other celebs such as Justin Timberlake and Usher will also perform at the event.
London (ANI): Singer Leona Lewis is set to perform in Michael Jackson tribute show to be held at London’s O2 Arena, as per sources. Apart from the X-factor winner, big stars including Justin Timberlake and Usher have reportedly been invited to share the stage to sing cover versions of their favourite Jackson hits.
“Huge stars such as Leona, Usher and Justin have expressed enthusiasm about the project,” the Sun quoted a source as saying. However, the details of the one-off show promoted by AEG Live has not been finalised yet. The officials are allegedly working around the clock to put in place a fitting tribute to the legend.
“There has been frantic activity both in AEG’s London and Los Angeles
offices. Executives want to stage a touching tribute to Michael and think the O2 would be a fitting location.” The concert will reportedly feature maximum possible video clips of Jackson rehearsing for ‘This Is It’ concert in LA.
The source added: “It will be a celebration of Jacko’s life through his music. “The producers want to avoid a sombre memorial tone and intend the evening to be a joyful event focusing on Jacko’s extraordinary legacy.”
A date is yet to be settled, but promoters hope to stage it this summer. The late King of Pop was supposed to perform a record-breaking stint of 50 shows at the O2 arena.

Leona, Saturdays for Capital Summer Ball

Leona has just been added to the roster for the Capital 95.8 FM Summertime Ball which will go down on June 7th in London, UK. Leona will be performing alongside other artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Akon, & The Saturdays. Tickets are now on sale!
Leona Lewis and The Saturdays will top the bill at the Capital FM 95.8 Summertime Ball.
Other star confirmed for the event include Akon, Kelly Clarkson and Calvin Harris.
Tickets for the show went on sale at 8am today after breakfast show hosts Johnny Vaughan and Lisa Snowdon announced the first acts.
“We only announced five of the artists this morning and we’ve already had such a huge response,” said Vaughan. “Just wait until you hear who else we have lined up!”
The Summertime Ball, which will host 50,000 fans, takes place at London’s Emirates Stadium on Sunday June 7.
£100,000 of the proceeds raised from the event will be donated to the Help A London Child charity.

Ne-Yo Urges Leona Lewis To Start Touring

It seems like Leona’s good friend, singer & songwriter Ne-Yo has given our Leona some advice. To start touring to get some experience. Hopefully, on the next album Leona will do a tour.
US R&B star Ne-Yo has urged Leona Lewis to tour in order to gain some more experience.
Ne-Yo, who worked on the former X Factor winner’s debut album ‘Spirit’, said Lewis’s shyness could work against her.
Since winning the reality show in 2006, Lewis has rarely performed live. But the star has still achieved a huge global fan base.
“Leona is very shy, which could be a good or bad thing,” he told the Daily Star newspaer. “In this business, people want to know you so you’ve got to be willing to give it.
“I hope she starts doing shows to build up her stage presence as it’s something you have to train for.”
Lewis played her longest show ever at a private party in Staffordshire last weekend. She is reported to have been paid £1million to play a seven song set.
Meanwhile, Ne-Yo also revealed that he had written more material for Lewis, and described one of the songs as a “big ballad”.
Lewis is currently recording her as-yet-untitled second album, which is due for release in the autumn.

Leona performed at a birthday party this past weekend for a reported $1.4 million! Leona supposedly was done with doing live shows this year but in this case, she did the show. Read more below :
Hey guys, did you hear we’re in a money crunch? Well, if you’re pals with Leona Lewis, just shoot her a Twitter and ask to borrow some of her newly acquired cash.
Word on the street is that a billionaire has paid the “Bleeding Love” singer $1.4 million to perform a set at his daughter’s 21st birthday party. The 23-year-old winner of Britain’s 2006 X-Factor performed “Happy Birthday” as well as her smash single at a mansion in Staffordshire, UK on Saturday night.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Leona was not supposed to do any live shows until next year, but she made an exception.” An exception? For that amount of money, I would have kidnapped Leona and paid some black market guy to perform a “Face-Off” procedure in a dingy basement.
Phones4U founder John Caudwell wanted only the best for his lil’ angel on her special night. MusicToob reports that one guest said: “It was a night Libby [daughter] will certainly never forget. It was like a dream. She has not stopped talking about it ever since.”
“Libby knew something was going to happen, but she just couldn’t believe it when Leona walked on the stage.” Still, what did she expect? Her dad - one of Britain’s richest men - flew Diana Ross in by private jet to perform for his girlfriend’s 40th and has booked Rod Stewart to appear at a private fund raising party in London’s Battersea Park in May.
Yea, you guys have fun with that over there in Britain. All of us Americans will be counting our nickels and moving back in with our parents.

Katy Perry, Leona Lewis, LL Cool J Set For Grammy Tour

Leona Lewis is set to be a part of performing on the 2009 Grammy Tour with other acts like Katy Perry, LL Cool J and more. The tour will make 5 stops opening on April 5th. Leona is gonna rock the tour!
Katy Perry, Leona Lewis and LL Cool J are to take part in the Grammy Celebration Concert tour.
The five-date tour will open at the Hollywood Palladium on April 9th with a performance from Lewis.
Perry will top the bill at The Fillmore in Miami Beach on May 13th, while LL Cool J will conclude the trip in New York on May 28th.
Other acts scheduled to take part in the tour will be announced shortly.
Tickets for the Grammy Celebration will be available exclusively via select T-Mobile stores.
